According to WBRZ, the two people arrested in connection with the deadly hit-and-run that killed a reserve Zachary Police officer have been identified.

Police say that Albert Franklin, 33, was arrested and booked on charges of first-degree murder, hit and run, damage to property, and fugitive from the Zachary Police Department. The second suspect, 30-year-old Ashley Chaney, was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice.

Two people are in custody following a hit-and-run killed a reserve police officer Monday night, according to WBRZ.

WBRZ reports that incident happened just before 8:00 p.m. at the Walmart located on Plank Road in Baker when he was struck.

Authorities say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and is a reserve police officer with the city of Zachary Police Department. That officer has not been identified.

The two people fled the scene but were later arrested.
