Staying cool & sunny the next couple days

Posted: Updated:

You might need to get the blankets out and turn the heater on tonight as lows will be dropping into the lower 40s, with some upper 30s possible for our northern parishes and rural areas.

With the winds still blowing at about 2-5 mph there should be enough movement in the air to prevent any frost from developing tonight.

Tuesday will be another cool day with highs only topping out in the low 60s under mostly sunny skies but we could have some mid to high level clouds move through during the afternoon.

Under clear skies and with winds going calm Wednesday morning lows will once again drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s.

Wednesday morning looks to have the best possibility for some isolated spots to see patchy frost, so sensitive plants might need to be covered.

High pressure will remain in control Wednesday creating another beautiful day with lots of sunshine but it will still be on cool side with highs in the mid 60s.

Thursday high pressure will begin to slide off to the East creating a return flow off the Gulf pushing highs back to near 70 with clouds working over the region.

By Friday the southerly flow will push even more clouds over Acadiana and a few scattered showers.

St. Patrick's Day will be warm with highs nearing 80 under partly sunny skies with a couple stray showers possible during the afternoon.

Our next front looks to arrive Sunday increasing rain chances to about 60% for widespread scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.

Behind this front we should get another round of nice weather with comfortable temperatures in the mid 70s for the first half of next week.
