Candidate forum held for Councilman District D seat in Abbeville

Abbeville held an election forum Thursday for the public to meet the candidates for the seat of Councilman District D 

Terry Broussard and current councilman Wayne Landry, both Democrats will be vying for the position.  Thursday's forum was held in the Vision of Hope center in Abbeville.

There, residents were able to provide questions to the candidates, to understand their platforms on several different topics. A number of topics including crime, flooding, and utilities were discussed. 

The two candidates will be on March 24, 2018, for the Municipal Primary Election. Early voting is March 10-17 (except Sunday, March 11) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

    We have new information from the ambulance company that responded to a call about a tree falling on children in St. Landry Parish over the weekend. The family has said it was nearly an hour before anyone responded and they want answers. It happened on East South Street just before five in the evening. Two children are still in hospitals tonight both recovering from surgery. Another child is back at home recovering from a broken arm. Family members tell us they ended up taking...
