Acadiana businessman, Urban, dies at 67

Acadiana businessman and resident of Rayne Frank Urban has died. 

Urban was the founder and operator of Acadiana Garage Doors located on Johnston Street in Lafayette. Urban died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the age of 67.

According to business partners, Urban started Acadiana Garage Doors from a small office in his home. The business has served the Acadiana region for over 25 years.

The family says that during his free time, Urban enjoyed tending to his horses, fishing, and spending time with his family. Urban is remembered as a kind, generous, honest, hardworking man.

Business partner and son-in-law Ty Greneaux said, "He was one of the smartest business minds I have ever met. His wisdom in all situations was unmatched. Just when I thought I knew what I was doing, I would talk to Frank and he would totally open my eyes, forcing me to look at the situation in a different way. His presence and wisdom had a way of humbling me, yet at the same time giving me confidence in myself."

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018, in the Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott for Mr. Frank Urban, 67, who passed away on 

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
