According to CNN, McDonald's restaurants across the country are celebrating International Women's Day 2018 by flipping their iconic golden arches upside down. A few locations have made changes to the restaurant signs while others are making smaller changes in the form of uniform and food container logos.

McDonald's website and social media platforms are also celebrating by flipping their logos from an 'M' into a 'W' in support "of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere." The company's website also has a page dedicated to all of its female employees, sharing stories of inspiration and highlighting workers at several McDonald's locations.

Local McDonald's locations in Lafayette will not be flipping their golden arches as they require heavy equipment to move and replace. Those locations say they are, however, fully supporting the movement and are celebrating the women in their workplaces.

McDonald's says that 6 out of 10 restaurant managers are women.

Employees at several locations across the country will also be wearing hats and shirts with inverted logos, according to CNN.
