The Lafayette Science Museum and the Lafayette Public Library have partnered to host a free event celebrating what they call "do-it-yourself creativity" and "tinkering" with their Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

The Faire is described by Lafayette Science Museum Director Kevin Krantz as part science fair, part festival, part something new. The day will include activities involving robotics, DIY science and technology, bicycles, hand-made crafts, music and much more, according to organizers.

Created to showcase small community "makers," organizers say the event is based on the larger Maker Faire model produced by Make magazine.

The event is free to attend and will be held from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Lafayette Science Museum located in Downtown Lafayette. More information can be found at lafayette.makerfaire.com.

Tickets can be reserved at lafayettemakerfaire.eventbrite.com.
