Back to sweater weather next couple days

Posted: Updated:

This evening as high clouds move out to sea and the winds die down temperatures will plummet into the low to mid 40s by Wednesday morning.

A few high clouds could linger into Wednesday morning before turning mostly sunny during the afternoon but with a secondary cool front sliding through Acadiana we will get a re-forcing shot of cool air causing highs to be about 10° below average in the lower 60s.

This cool front will also cause winds to be breezy out of the north between 10-15 mph adding an extra chill to the air as feel like temperatures will hold in the mid to upper 50s on Wednesday.

Thursday high pressure moves over top Acadiana but we still could have a mix of sun and clouds with cool temperatures in the mid 60s.

By Friday high pressure slides off to the east flipping winds back out of the south helping to push warmer air back over Acadiana as highs will climb to near 70 under mostly sunny skies.

Unfortunately the dry weather comes to an end this weekend.

Clouds will start to develop Saturday morning along with a few scattered showers during the afternoon as we are in the warm and humid air mass as a warm front lifts up to the Tennessee Valley.

This warm front will combine with an area of low pressure near Arkansas to create on and off showers Saturday evening into Sunday morning as the associated cold front slowly works down through Louisiana.

Sunday afternoon the front will finally push offshore but we still could have some over running moisture causing a few more scattered showers.

In total this front does not look to have that much moisture so rainfall amounts look to be about a half an inch or less.

Behind this front we will clear out but another wave of cool air looks to dive down into Acadiana as highs next Monday through Wednesday will be in the mid 60s with overnight lows in the mid to upper 40s again.
