The Vermilion Municipal and Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force seized drugs, weapons and cash and made one arrest last week at a Maude Avenue home, Sheriff Mike Couvillion said.

Busch Sereal, 40, was booked with Manufacturing of Schedule II, (Crack Cocaine), Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II, (Cocaine), Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm in a Drug Free Zone, Transactions Involving Drug Proceeds, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Schedule I, (Marijuana).

Agents applied for a search warrant for the home after an investigation into narcotics sales. When they got to the house, Sereal allegedly fled on foot, but agents caught him a short distance away. In addition to the drug charges, Sereal also was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

When agents searched the house they found cocaine and evidence that someone had been cooking crack cocaine, the sheriff said. Agents also found pot, a stolen gun, money and ammo.

Couvillion said anyone with information on illegal drug activities should contact the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office or the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit at 337-740-4501 or E-mail the Task Force anonymously at taskforce@vpso.net and your e-mail will be held in the “strictest of confidence” and replied to in a very timely manner.
