Man crashes car into Crowley Waffle House

Posted: Updated:

An Alabama man is facing charges after crashing into a Waffle House in Crowley.

Adrian Pritchett of Mobile is accused of crashing into the Waffle House and then leading police on a chase. Despite damages, the restaurant didn't stay closed for too long.

Former Waffle House employee, Destiny Hulin, got a call early this morning from a friend of hers who still works at the restaurant. She wasn't prepared for what her friend was about to say.

"They said he drove in, he wasn't a customer, he didn't get down. He'd backed up, ran into the wall. He went forward, backed in, and then he left," explained Hulin.

In the process, the suspect left a good bit of damage to the restaurant.

"When he backed up, he came all the way in here, because he hit the high bar. Thank god there was nobody in the booth," explained Hulin

The restaurant reopened only a few hours after the crash, and to mixed reviews.

"I mean you have a tragedy like this and you don't close your store down. You expect people to be okay with the situation," asked Hulin

"It shows the tenacity and dedication of those employees, and that business, even that with this. But, that's a lot of our businesses in our area. You know a while back there was one, an accident, where a vehicle drove into another business, and you know they were closed down for an hour and then they reopened again for business," explained Crowley Police Chief, Jimmy Broussard
