After hours closed, I-10 West reopens near Henderson

I-10 West has reopened at LA 347 (Henderson) after an accident involving an 18-wheeler earlier Monday afternoon. 

The closure lasted for about five hours. As of 10:45 p.m. the roadway was cleared and reopened to traffic. 

Henderson Police say the removal of an 18-wheeler has caused the continued closure. At around 4:30 p.m. Monday, officers estimated the removal of the vehicle would take around five to six hours. The trailer of the 18-wheeler was too disabled to roll off the bridge and had to be unloaded from where it is on the bridge

During the accident, the axle of the vehicle was broken. Police, says that crews have to unload several thousand pounds of cargo.

The driver, Henderson Police say had a medical emergency which caused the accident

Video from DOTD showed the 18-wheeler that was stuck on the side of a bridge, its back-end was wedged up against the side wall of the bridge.
