Boil advisory rescinded for parts of Rayne, water safe for consumption

UPDATE: The City of Rayne Water Department says that the boil advisory issued for parts of Rayne on Monday, March 5 has been rescinded. The department says that water press within the system has been restored to above the minimum required levels. Tests completed by the Office of Public Health have come back negative for bacteria. 

The boil adivsory for the Prevost, Pearl, Comeaux, Patricia, and Theo Streets has now been rescinded. The department says water is now safe for consumption.

A boil advisory has been issued for parts of Rayne after a loss of water pressure while a fire hydrant was being repaired. 

The boil advisory is effective immediately for Pearl, Comeaux,, Patricia, Prevost and Theo streets.  The boil advisory will remain in effect until further notice. 

Water must be boiled for a full minute in a clean container prior to human or animal consumption.
