Front moving through Monday night

Posted: Updated:

It would have been a tough task coming up with a better forecast for this past weekend, but all good things must come to an end and the good times will be wrapping up briefly for Monday.

The next front is on the way which in turn will lead to winds picking up through the day on Monday and clouds streaming in from the Gulf of Mexico as the moisture builds.

Shower activity will be reserved for the later parts of the day with a line of showers and thunderstorms pushing across the area starting in the evening and moving out by dawn on Tuesday.

There's a marginal chance for an isolated severe thunderstorm for the parishes north of I-10 and while the chance will be pretty remote a chance will be there nonetheless.

The biggest issue is going to be the potential for some small hail and even some strong, damaging winds as the front pushes through the northern sections of Acadiana.

The weather behind the front will return the type of weather we had over the weekend with clear skies and temperatures that will only get up into the 60s in the afternoon.
