The Ville Platte Police Department needs help in identifying two suspects in connection with a theft at a local grocery store.

At 11:30 a.m. today, officers responded to a report of a theft at Champagne Quality Food in the 900 block of Tate Cove Road.

A spokeswoman with the police department says a woman left her wallet in a shopping cart, and it was stolen.

Surveillance video shows the male and female suspects entering the grocery store with the shopping cart.

The victim told KATC the suspects stole $4,000 in cash from her wallet, which she intended to use for her wedding next month.

Officers say the man and woman placed the wallet on a shelf in the store after taking the money.

According to the victim, the suspects exited the store after she reported her wallet missing to the store clerk.

If you recognize the vehicle below or the suspects in the video, contact the Ville Platte Police Department immediately at 363-1313.  Your call will remain anonymous.
