GMA: Zoosiana introduces ZooLive animals, talks upcoming EggstravaganZoo event

Posted: Updated:

KATC's Katie Lopez was LIVE at Zoosiana getting up close and personal with some of the zoo's most fascinating animals and learning more about the EggstravaganZoo Easter event happening March 17 &18.

Persia the Serval Cat

This morning Katie was introduced to Persia, a type of hunting cat from Africa called a Serval.

Servals have the longest toes, longest legs, and the largest ears of any hunting cat. Serval cats are the most successful hunters of the cat family succeeding 80 percent of the time. Persia, like other servals, is capable of snatching a flying bird from the sky and grabbing rodents from underground burrows.

You can visit Persia at Zoosiana or during the Zoo Live Animal Show.

EggstravaganZoo Easter Event

The Zoo will hold EggstravaganZoo on Saturday, March 17 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and Sunday, March 18 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The event is a fundraiser for Zoosiana and tickets are limited. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting the Zoosiana Gift shop, or by purchase online. Regular admission fees will apply. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the event.

Guest are asked to bring their Easter Basket and support the Zoo.

The event will feature family-oriented events like a Continuous Easter Egg Hunt, arts and crafts, Safari Train ride and ZooLive Animal Show. Vendors from local businesses will be set up throughout the park for the event. For more information visit Zoosiana.com.
