A Scott man has been arrested and accused of using his company credit card to buy furniture from Cowboys Western Store and Trailer Sales.

Davis Normand was booked with theft in connection with the incident, Scott Chief Chad Leger said.

Scott Police were called by Key Energy Services after they became suspicious that an employee was using the credit card for personal purchases, he said.

Investigators say purchases were made at Cowboys Western Store for furniture over the past couple of months totaling $3814.79, allegedly by Normand, who was a Key Energy employee.

Investigators were able to locate and speak to Normand, and they say he admitted to making the purchases. Investigators say Normand told them that the money was due to him because the company owed him raises that he was not getting.

Late Thursday, Normand remained in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, with no bond yet set for his release.
