The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office and other agencies are searching for an inmate who escaped from a Rapides Parish jail.

According to deputies, the inmate, Brandon Wade Clark, jumped the fence of the jail and fled on foot before stealing a vehicle and leading deputies on a chase North along LA Hwy 3279. At LA Hwy 1, the suspect was then involved in a crash from which deputies say he fled on foot into a wooded area near LA Hwy 490 in south Natchitoches Parish.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office say that they are currently searching the area for Clark with the help of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police, and the Winn Parish Chase Team.

Deputies say that Clark was previously charged with theft, burglary, armed robbery, domestic abuse battery and aggravated battery. They say Clark should be considered dangerous.

If anyone sees Clark they are asked to call 911 or their local law enforcement agency.
