The Lafayette Parish Association of Educators is sponsoring Read Across America with an event held at the Lafayette Public Library to celebrate the program's 21st year. The even starts on Saturday, March 3 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Lafayette Public Library Main Branch in Downtown Lafayette. Volunteers will be on hand to read books to children and there will be an opportunity for arts and crafts. All ages are welcome to attend the event which will include a visit from the Cat in the Hat and cake in celebration of Dr. Suess' birthday which is on March 2.
