Tropical atmosphere giving way to a cooler weekend

Posted: Updated:

A definite tropical feel to the atmosphere Wednesday in anticipation of the next cold front that is expected to swing into the area Thursday morning providing some scattered showers.

Wednesday will be warm and muggy with highs pushing up to around 82 in the afternoon with a saturated atmosphere, luckily though the winds should stay gusty preventing the stickiness from really sinking into the area.

Winds will be sustained out of the south around 10-15 mph through the afternoon and occasionally gusting up to around 20 mph at times giving the atmosphere a distinctly tropical feel.

The front will move through early on Thursday sparking a round of scattered showers for the commute to work although they shouldn't last too long and will have minimal impact.

Once the showers clear up temperatures will start to fall through the day leading to a much cooler night and wrap up to the work week and start of the weekend.
