Westside Elementary combined their Black History Program with their Leader in Me program today.
The Leader in Me program seeks to promote student growth and leadership, so that students try to improve their grades, read every day, and focus on positive behavior, said principal Lisa Thomas.
The students' work was on display throughout the school for visitors to see, and of course there was a program of music and dance presented by the students.
"It doesn't matter what race or culture you are, we're all one big family. That's what we saw today, they came together as one," Thomas said.
