First public CREATE Initiative meeting held in Lafayette

Posted: Updated:

Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux and his team are working to figure out the best way to utilize the CREATE Initiative.

LCG held its first public input meeting on CREATE to gather an inventory of what Lafayette has to offer culturally.
Organizers say they want to give the public access to organizations and artists to promote collaboration.

"This is us trying to make an effort to strategically grow the economy that's become our second-largest economy," said Kate Durio, Assistant to Mayor-President. "Totally, organically and it's fun to imagine what we can do with a little bit of strategy investment."

Future meetings are scheduled for April 24, May 22, June 26, July 24, August 28, September 25, October 23, November 27 and December 18. The meetings will be held at 10 a.m. in the City-Parish Council Auditorium, 705 W. University Avenue
