LSU: No Investiagation Circling Wade

Posted: Updated:

BATON ROUGE -- LSU says there is no NCAA investigation around head coach Will Wade. The school released a statement Monday saying "LSU has confirmed with NCAA officials that there is no active investigation into the men's basketball program. LSU Athletics stands for full compliance and partnership with the NCAA and the SEC."

The statement follows a Yahoo report on Monday that alleges that the NCAA is looking into Will Wade's recruiting tactics.

Before arriving at LSU, Wade coached at VCU in Richmond, VA. The school released this statement Monday as well, saying in part "At VCU we believe in operating at a high level and do not compromise when it comes to integrity in any aspect of our department."

Yahoo reports that the probe into Wade's recruitment is separate to the the federal investigation into college basketball recruiting that alleges players from across the country were paid to play basketball at various schools. Former LSU players Tim Quarterman and Jarell Martin were named in Yahoo's report Friday.
