Crowley man cited for damage to graves

Posted: Updated:

A Crowley man has been cited for damaging some graves at a Crowley cemetery.

Chief Jimmy Broussard said the man was trying to visit a loved one's grave, and thought he was turning onto a driveway that runs through the cemetery. He was mistaken, and panicked, and drove over some graves trying to get out, Broussard said.

He turned himself in to police this morning, Broussard said.

"It wasn't intentional, but there was still an accident, so we cited him," Broussard said.

Roger Broussard, 67, of Crowley was cited for careless operation with an accident and failure to report an accident, the chief said.
