Cajuns play USA Saturday, wrapping up road schedule

Posted: Updated:
MOBILE, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball team closes out its 2017-18 regular-season road schedule on Saturday when it visits Sun Belt Conference rival South Alabama at the Mitchell Center.
Tipoff is tentatively set for 7:05 p.m., and will follow the women’s game between Louisiana and South Alabama set for 5:05 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM and on the RadioPup app with Jay Walker providing the commentary.
Louisiana (24-4, 14-1 SBC) claimed a share of its first Sun Belt Conference regular-season title since 2000 after posting an 81-76 win at Troy on Thursday. The Ragin’ Cajuns, who have a three-game lead over second-place Georgia State, can claim the outright title and clinch the No. 1 seed in next month’s Sun Belt Conference Basketball Championships with a win over South Alabama (14-14, 7-8 SBC).

The win over Troy, which set a new single-season record for wins in Sun Belt Conference play, inched the Ragin’ Cajuns closer to the single-season record for overall wins (25) that was set during the 1970-71, 1971-72 and 1999-2000 seasons.
