JENNINGS, La. -

A teen has been arrested in Jeff Davis Parish after allegedly making a threat to "shoot up" Hathaway High School in Jennings.

According to deputies, the shooting threat came from a student Thursday morning. The threat was sent out to Hathaway High School students via social media at about 9:30 a.m., warning them not to go to school.

17-year-old Christopher Simon Marshall of Jennings was later identified as the student who made those alleged threats. Deputies say that in a message, Marshall said he was going to "shoot up" the school.

A warrant was obtained from Marshall on the charge of Terrorizing. He was arrested Thursday morning and booked into the Jeff Davis Parish jail on a $1,000 bond.
