An Acadia Parish teen has been indicted on Attempted Second Degree Murder charges.

The Acadia Parish Grand Jury met earlier this month and indicted the 16-year-old.

The indictment is the result of an incident which occurred on February 6 in the 24000 block of Crowley Eunice Highway. The investigation revealed that during a disturbance, the defendant armed himself with a 20 gauge shotgun and attempted to shoot the juvenile victim. The gun malfunctioned and the victim fled. The defendant armed himself with a rifle seeking the victim, but was unable to locate him. The defendant was arrested by deputies during their investigation.

The teen has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. Bond has been set at $75,000.
