GMA: Komen Acadiana 19th annual Race for the Cure

On Saturday, February 24, 2018, Komen Acadiana will hold their 19th Annual Race for the Cure and Family Fun Day. 

KATC's Katie Lopez was LIVE this morning at Courtesy-Lincoln on Ambassador Caffery for "Packet Pick-up Day" as volunteers with Komen Acadiana prepare for the big race. Those who have pre-registered or would like to register can pick up their packets today, February 22 and Friday, February 23.

Race Day will kick-off on Saturday, February 24th at 2:00 pm at Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville. Acadiana residents are asked to support runners as they "Pink Out the Pond" to raise funds for local community grants and lifesaving research to help bring an end to breast cancer, forever. 

Race Day Registration and the Event Expo will open at 2:00 pm and will include a Survivor Celebration, Survivor Parade, live entertainment, Team Hangout, Kids Korner, and much more. The 1 mile and 5k family fun runs will kickoff at 5:30 pm. Post-Race, there will be a survivor ceremony, food, fun and a concert.

4:00 pm Celebration at Romacelli Bistro e Vino, Sugar Mill Pond (220 Prescott Blvd, Youngsville, LA 70592)
4:45 pm Survivor Parade

5:30 pm 1 mile & 5k Fun Run(s) Begin
6:15 Closing Ceremonies, Awards, Concert & More
