Fifth tax proposition forum to be held tonight by St. Landry Parish School Board

The St. Landry Parish School Board will the fifth community forum to discuss the proposed two-part tax proposition that will appear on the March 24th ballot. Six community forums have been scheduled.

Tonight's forum will be held at Port Barre High School at 6:00 pm.

If the proposition passes the district will have $99 million in bond money to use for improvements over a 20-year period. The proposition also includes a $3,000 salary increase for teachers and $2,000 dollar raise for support workers. Superintendent Patrick Jenkins and members of the SLP Parish Schools and Board will be available to discuss and answer any questions community members may have

The last of the community forums will be held on Wednesday, March 7 at Beau Chene High School at 6 pm in the school's auditorium.
