St. Landry Chamber banquet recognizes members who bring unique charm to parish

Posted: Updated:

The chamber of commerce in St. Landry Parish is recognizing citizens and businesses for their contributions to the local economy and community.

At the 2018 Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet at the Opelousas Civic Center, the chamber highlighted individuals and businesses that help bring a unique charm to St. Landry Parish.

Awards for the 2018 Woman of the Year, 2018 Citizen of the Year, and 2018 Humanitarian of the Year were given out during the evening.

The Awards Banquet, with the theme "We Are St. Landry", looked back on the year and what is to come for the parish.

"The community of St. Landry has always supported this chamber, for almost 100 years actually, we make 100 years in 2019, and this year's event is celebrating that, celebrating 99 years of success. The community has backed us, not only by becoming members and supporting the chamber events, but they also support the chamber by volunteering," said President of the St. Landry Chamber of Commerce Raquella Manuel.
