Two Acadiana parishes, Iberia and Acadia, are beginning the search for replacements for outgoing school superintendents.

The Iberia Parish School Board will begin it's interviewing process with candidates for the position beginning at 5:00 pm on February 19. Three candidates will meet with the board for interviews. The meeting is open to the public, but candidates have the option for the interview to be conducted in a closed session.

The current Iberia Parish School Superintendent Dale Henderson announced that he would be retiring this summer after serving the school system for 11 years.

The Acadia Parish school board will begin discussions tonight on the necessary procedures for selecting a new superintendent. A personnel, insurance and curriculum committee meeting will be held tonight, Monday, February 19 at 5:00 pm to discuss that process.

John Bourques, who has served as superintendent of Acadia Parish for 16 years, will retire this summer from the position.
