Scattered showers for the weekend

Posted: Updated:

The flip between winter and spring continues across the deep south and it seems that we will go from blasting the heater to blasting the air conditioning with nothing in between.

Winds moved in from the Gulf of Mexico this week and it took absolutely no time for the atmosphere to heat up and get absolutely saturated with moisture has humidity shot up.

A breeze Friday morning has meant that fog hasn't been as thick as it was the day before but it is still patchy in areas along the I-10 corridor and coastal parishes.

All the moisture will mean that clouds will persist through the majority of the day and may even give way to a few misty light showers across Acadiana in the evening as a cold front approaches.

Despite the name, temperatures won't be much colder behind the front with highs still making it into the mid-70s through the weekend with a lot of cloud cover for the next several days.

A soggy weekend with scattered showers popping up Saturday afternoon but we aren't looking at getting any storms and the showers should remain fairly light without much accumulation.
