Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputies have arrested a babysitter in connection with a serious injury to a four-month-old child.

Kristian Rosas, 25, was booked with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.

Deputies were called to a hospital about the injury to the baby, and spoke to Rosas, who is the child's babysitter. Rosas allegedly admitted to deputies that she intentionally struck the baby's head against a wall while she was babysitting the infant at her home.

She remains in the parish jail in lieu of $80,000 bond. The baby was transported to another hospital and is listed in serious condition, deputies say.

CPSO Detective Keeba Barber is the lead investigator on this case.
