Ball woman killed in Gardner crash

Early this morning, a crash involving two vehicles killed a woman from Ball and injured a man from Alexandria. 

Louisiana State Police were called to a crash on La. 28 near Gardner at about 6 a.m.

They found a Toyota Camry driven by Imogene Jones, 79, and a Dodge Pick-up driven by Joseph Bordelon, 45 had been in an accident. 

The Toyota was in the westbound lane traveling east. The pick-up was traveling westbound in the westbound lane, and hit the Toyota head-on, State Police say.

Jones was wearing her seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. 

Bordelon also was wearing his seat belt and sustained moderate injuries.  He was transported to Rapides Regional Trauma Center for treatment, State Police say.

Routine toxicology tests are pending.  The crash remains under investigation.

Troop E Troopers have investigated four fatal crashes in 2018, resulting in four fatalities.
