Soggy Mardi Gras

Posted: Updated:

Happy Mardi Gras Acadiana!

While we've certainly had worse forecasts in recent memory this year's forecast won't be welcome news to man revelers across Acadiana wanting to go out and celebrate.

A misty, chilly morning across south Louisiana Tuesday morning will get the day started with damp conditions across the area before we see some of the showers start to pick up.

Shower activity will pick up Tuesday afternoon with one or two thunderstorms possibly impacting some of the later parades and celebrations that will be taking place.

Make sure you can keep an eye on the radar and have a safe place to go in the event you do counter a pop-up thunderstorm that is producing some lightning.

Temperature wise we will be a little warmer then Monday but if you're going to be out all day long it wouldn't be a bad idea to bundle up a little in layers to be prepared for rising and falling temperatures.

Have a fun and safe Mardi Gras, everyone.
