Queen's Parade will be chilly but dry

Posted: Updated:

It's not as wet as the weekend was but it will be far from a pleasant forecast for Mardi Gras, but at least it should be dry for the multitude of parades and celebrations.

Instead clouds will dominate the day with little clearing expected making it another gray and dreary winter day across south Louisiana, not helped by a cold wind coming in from the north.

Winds started to pick up Sunday night and they will stay strong through the majority of the day keeping the wind chill in the 30s and 40s all afternoon and evening.

The good news is that it should be dry for Monday's Queen's Parade and while it will be deceptively cold outside it will at the very least still be dry, an improvement from the weekend's parades.

Rain chances for Mardi Gras day look scattered and it looks as if we may be dodging a few pop up showers through the day, although most should be in the afternoon after the parades finish.

Luckily the atmosphere should stay relatively stable, which will limit the chance for thunderstorms keeping any activity at a slow rain.
