Saturday parade forecast

Posted: Updated:

Have the rain gear and ponchos ready for the parades as scattered showers will be in the area for most of the day.

If you are getting ready to head out to the Children's Parade the good news is it looks like it will just be light showers and there might even be some brief breaks in the rain.

For Lafayette it looks like the heaviest showers and maybe even a couple thunderstorms will slide through between the parades from 2-6PM.

It is during this time frame that the actual cold front will be moving through Acadiana.

This line of showers/storms could produce a quick half inch to an inch of rain so there could be some minor ponding on the normal poor drainage roads.

As for the Bonaparte Parade this evening starting at 6PM we could still have some lingering scattered showers on the backside of this afternoon's rain but I do think it will mainly just be on the light side.

As the parade goes on the model shows the rain pushing off to the east and it might even stop ending towards the second half of the parade after 7PM.

That said things could change so the best thing would be to do is check out our live radar here to see how the showers are moving to decide if you want to go out to the parades.
