Moms create mask to reduce injuries from Mardi Gras throws

Posted: Updated:

Most of us know the pains of getting hit in the face with beads but two women came up with a solution to that problem.

The bead blockers are being sold at the Black Cafe in Downtown Lafayette. Creators say it helps them enjoy parades without having to worry about their kids or themselves being hit in the face with beads.

"I kind of knew it was worth bringing the idea into reality. So yeah, we used it Saturday night at Rio and my daughter did get hit in the face, but she had the mask on an I know this is really going to work," said Bead Blocker creator Donna Troyanowski.
