Animal Control: Dogs will be relocated

We've received several calls from out of state about some dogs at a mobile home on Fenway Drive in Duson.

We reached out to the Lafayette Parish Animal Control, and they directed us to a statement that was posted on their Facebook wall earlier today:

"We are aware of the situation and our Animal Control Officers have visited the home three days this week. Arrangements have been made by the owner to relocate the dogs today. We will continue to monitor the situation and intervene tomorrow if action has not been taken.

Also, it was determined during our officers' inspections that the doghouse, bedding and chain length meets our ordinance.

The animals are being fed but they have worms and will be treated for such. This is the reason for their appearance.

We too are concerned and are optimistic it will be resolved today."
