A reward is being offered in the April 2017 slaying of Kathy Weston.

The Evangeline Parish District Attorney's Office has announced that a $1,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the indictment and conviction of the persons responsible for her slaying.

Weston was shot while crossing the street in front of a store near the intersection of North Chataignier and East Jackson in Ville Platte. She was just going to the grocery store, and was described by her family at the time as an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of another incident.

A few days after she died, Ville Platte Police arrested Tiberrious Wilson, 19. Wilson was booked on warrants for second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrument and carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon.

We've reached out to the DA's office to check on Wilson's status.

Anyone with information, please call the Evangeline Parish District Attorney Investigator at 337-363-3438 or the Ville Platte Police Department at 337-363-1313.
