Chilly, breezy and cloudy

Posted: Updated:

It's a chilly day across Acadiana Thursday in the wake of the cold front that left us soaking and shivering this week, and a quick break from the wet weather before it bounces back this weekend.

Clouds will struggle to clear with sunshine arriving in patches Thursday afternoon, which won't help much with temperatures which will struggle to get into the 60s in the afternoon.

Winds will be making matters worse keeping the wind chill down colder then what is being reported on the thermometer and a stiff breeze from the north won't relax until overnight.

Clouds will thicken up going into Friday and eventually giving way to the next round of scattered shower activity on Friday evening, those showers should stay scattered so parade-goers may get lucky.

Rain chances will only increase over the weekend with a sloppy forecast coming up on Saturday which will likely be plagued by showers lasting all afternoon and evening.

While severe weather is not expected it would be unwise to rule out any thunderstorms, meaning if lighting gets going you'll want a place to go to get out of harms way.

The forecast the last few weeks have been challenging and I imagine there will be more changes as the forecast evolves so make sure you stay up to date with all the latest information on KATC.
