Mother and son arrested for Melville burglaries

MELVILLE -

A mother and son have been arrested for allegedly running a burglary ring in St. Landry Parish. 

Arrest warrants were issued for 51-year-old Tammy Beard and 26-year-old Jarrod Beard, both of Melville, on aggravated burglary charges after a string of burglaries was reported in Melville, according to Melville Police Chief Anthony Moreau.

Moreau arrested the mother and son duo Wednesday afternoon at a residence in the 100 block of Church Street. He says weapons were also recovered at the residence. 

Tammy and Jarrod were both booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
