New Orleans Police are asking for assistance from the public in locating a woman who has been missing for almost 34 years.

Police say they are asking the public for help in searching for Remona Brown who was last seen the night of a house fire on Memorial Park Drive in New Orleans on March 6, 1984. Police say that Remona, who was 3-years-old, made it out of the home with her siblings and was last seen by her sister, who was six a the time.

Two male members of the family, according to police, died in the fire.

Remona's sister told police at the time that a bronze or brown colored vehicle occupied by a white female and black male stopped near the scene and asked the girls if they needed help. The sister says that the couple offered to watch Remona and the little girl entered the car. The car, with Remona inside, then reportedly left the scene.

A search was undertaken to find the missing girl, but the search returned no results. NOPD has shared a photo of Remona Brown as a young child and a composite image of what Brown would look like now, aged 37.

Anyone with information on Remona Brown's whereabouts is asked to call the Fourth District Detectives at 504-658-6040.
