Body found on Southern University's campus identified as missing Baton Rouge woman

According to the Advocate, the Baton Rouge Police Department has identified the body found along the Mississippi River near Southern University campus in Baton Rouge.

The body has been identified by police as 51-year-old Yvette Nettles. The body was found yesterday after a group of LSU students on a field trip noticed the body. Police reported Nettles missing on January 29. She had been missing for a week before her body was found. 

Police told the Advocate that Nettles had a history of mental health issues including bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia.

An investigation is still ongoing.
