Showers and storms rolling through Wednesday morning

Posted: Updated:

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through during the morning hours of Wednesday which will impact almost everyone who is headed to work.

Showers will be heavy at times but the rain totals aren't expected to get much higher then that half inch to an inch range, meaning the flood threat should be minimal.

The severe threat will also be minimal but an isolated case of severe weather shouldn't be ruled out entirely, the biggest threat would be straight line winds as the front moves through Acadiana.

As the afternoon arrives showers will lighten up but it will take longer for us to shake the wet weather entirely and the clouds won't ease up until after the weekend.

Winds will be gusty all day, even after the front passes winds will stay strong and out of the north ushering in a round of cold air that will drop temperatures through the day.

This means a chilly night coming up across Acadiana with most lows getting down into the 30s by early Thursday morning with strong winds accompanying the cold.

Clouds will stick around through the rest of the work week with another round of showers and thunderstorms arriving on Saturday and continuing through the majority of the weekend.
