Army recruiting truck visits Rayne High School

Posted: Updated:

The US Army Interactive STEM Truck, recruiting tool used by the military branch, visited Rayne High School today to introduce students to some of the technology used by soldiers.

The STEM trucks offer students an immersive experience that shows them how Army technology works and is used in battle situations. It allows students to see what assets the Army has to offer, and to learn about the training available through joining the U.S. Army or the U.S. Army Reserve.

"We definitely want a lot of people to come out here and talk to us, or come see us in our office. They don't understand all of the different benefits and career opportunities we have," says Staff Sgt. Steven Mercer. "For example, i'm a biomedical technology specialist. i work in a hospital calibrating, maintaining, and operating every form of medical equipment."
