Police weren't aware of social posts that predicted Jeanerette homicide

Jeanerette, La. -

The name of the person who was shot and killed during Sunday's Mardi Gras parade in Jeanerette has been released.

The victim identified is 22-year-old Dante Archangel Senior."

Investigators say Archangel was shot in the chest multiple times at the corner of MLK Drive and Monnot Road.
Archangel died while on the way to the hospital.
A second person suffered a non-life-threatening wound.

Deputies are still searching for a suspect, but they say they aren't getting much help from witnesses.

"It's really amazing that the parade route was packed. you know, with the parade going on and thousands of people all over the place. and, all a sudden shots are fired and nobody sees anything," explained Major Wendell Rayborn of the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Department

That's the frustration for investigators working on Sunday's deadly shooting.
No one is willing to come forward with information about the incident.

"So far we've turned up a couple witnesses. We're hoping that it will hopefully lead us to identifying a suspect or at least show us further what actually happened out there," said Rayborn

Two screenshots from social media, posted in the days and hours before the shooting, seem to predict the crime.
KATC showed them to law enforcement officers, but they say they weren't aware of them.

We tried to speak with Jeanerette residents about the shooting, but no one would talk to us on camera, and deputies say until someone talks this case may go unsolved.

"We have no suspects name's at this time. no person's of interest and the investigation is still on going and we're working toward hopefully making an arrest, but like i said, it really depends upon how much cooperation we get from the public. they were there," explained Rayborn
