St. Landry Deputies looking for man wanted for domestic abuse, kidnapping

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public to be on the lookout for a wanted man. 

Deputies say the man Tyrone Johnson of Opelousas is wanted for on warrants for domestic abuse battery by strangulation and kidnapping.  Deputies say that a call came from the victim in the case, alleging that Johnson forced her into her car at home and was beating her while driving towards Washington, LA.

The victim told deputies that she was able to exit the vehicle but needed assistance, including an ambulance. A spokesperson for St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office also said that two children, a 7-year-old and 2-year-old were left at home with no supervision. Deputies were told that the victim had no shoes on and needed to get back to her kids. 

Tyrone Johnson had left the scene.

He is believed to be driving a 2005 white Chrysler 300 with a license plate number 562BEA. If you have seen Johnson or know where he is, call 948 TIPS (8477)
