Funeral services set for Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputy

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputy William "Bill" Lattimore, 69, who passed away peacefully Saturday, February 3, 2018, at his residence in Lafayette.

The Rev. Pat Wadsworth will officiate the services.

Lattimore was a native of Alabama and a resident of Lafayette for 30 years. He was employed as a Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputy for 25 years. Lattimore had also presided as president of The Blue Knights Motorcycle Club during his life. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, courageously serving his country in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret/Special Forces. 

He was an avid NASCAR racing fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren. As a graduate of Auburn University, he proudly supported the Auburn Tigers.  

Survivors include his wife, the former Janie Burrows; one step-daughter, Heather Goodrum; three grandchildren, Lucas, Brayden and River Rose Goodrum; one brother, Buddy Burttrum and his wife, Cindy; one sister, Suzy Burttrum; and many brothers and sisters in Blue.

Lattimore was preceded in death by his father, William M. Lattimore; his mother, the former Norma Young; his step-father, Clem Burttrum; and one sister, Linda Burttrum.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until service time.
