Robbery leads to shooting in Rayne; one injured

RAYNE -

One person is injured following an armed robbery in Rayne this evening.

Rayne police responded to a call of a robbery and shooting in the 800 block of W South 1st Street at 7:40 p.m.

Police say, upon their arrival, they discovered a male victim had been shot multiple times.

The victim says he was robbed and shot by one person, according to a spokesman with the police department.

He was transferred to a Lafayette hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.

    A woman was found bound in Lake Charles today, the victim of a kidnapping. Police say they already have a suspect in custody.
