Three parades roll this weekend in Lafayette Parish

Mardi Gras has finally arrived in Lafayette Parish in the form of three parades happening this weekend. 

The Carencro Mardi Gras Parade is still on for Saturday, February 3, 2018. 

Members of the Mardi Gras Association says they are making final preparations for the event which kicks off the season in Lafayette Parish 

"We always have a safe fun and family event here in Carencro and they'll probably see a lot of people, a lot of floats, and a lot of bead throwers, so be prepared to catch the beads," says Timmy Duhon with the Mardi Gras Association. 

The parade with begin at 11:00 a.m. 

Another parade scheduled for this weekend is happening in Scott. 

"We always excited at this time to have people coming into the city of Scott and have a great time at our parade, we incur many many people but most of the people we incur are family friendly people and so we have a good time and people look forward to coming," says Scott Mayor Purvis Morrison. 

That parade will begin 1:00 pm

The Rio Parade in Lafayette will roll starting at 6:30 p.m. at Pontiac Point making its way down the parade right to Cajun Field.
