Metro Narcotics agents seize drugs, make one arrest

One man was arrested and a lot of drugs were seized after a lengthy investigation by the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force. 

Richard Skinner, 32, was booked with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, THC candy and ecstasy, 14 counts possession of firearms near drugs, possession of money derived from drug sales, possession of narcotic mushrooms, unlawful possession of body armor, possession of THC oil and possession of a prescription drug without a prescription. 

Agents seized five assault rifles, three shotguns, five pistols and several weapon magazines with ammunition; a bullet-proof vest; nearly $11,000 in cash and a money-counting machine; 2,172 grams of Kratom; less than 2 grams of THC oil, 3 grams of THC wax, 289 pieces of THC candy, three mushrooms, 167 ecstasy pills, 100 tablets of doxycline hyclate (an antibacterial drug used to treat acne); and 37 kilograms of marijuana. 

Agents placed a value of $813,922 on the drugs seized. 

Late Friday, Skinner remained in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center with his bond set at more than $1.6 million.
